I’m seeing a lot of blogger hate out there. It makes me disappointed in humanity because the root cause is jealousy but it is also misinformation. Do you even know what a blogger is?

Before we tap into what type of blogger you are, and if you are proud to be a blogger, we must first take a look at the origin of Blogging. Do you know where the word blogger comes from? I write copy or content for peoples websites to help their websites stay relevant and so that they rank well on the SERP. (Search engine results page). This is my job that I get paid for.
Then there us the other side of blogging where because we have a large following that we have worked hard for and not bought. We are asked for trades or to try out products and premote them. Some do this now than others and why shouldn’t they? If you don’t like it just don’t follow or scroll past.

I am only discovering this world of influencing now. It’s all new to me although I’ve been writing for about 12 years. We have a platform and we need to be careful not to abuse it. To be relevant and trustworthy. All good influencers know they have a responsibility both to followers and to brands and they bridge the gap between the two. Are you proud to be a blogger?
I have to say I love the south african influencer /blogger family. They all really seem genuine. The ones I’ve met in Durban are awesome. Most of them have day jobs or they are hard working mom’s.
All of us need to accept that the world is changing and marketing is evolving from print to social media. The nay sayers will get left behind. The negative people will keep struggling and keep blaming. Those who are hardworking will see the fruits of their labors.
